What Is SAFE? Self-Harm Therapy Group
SAFE is a CMHA-run outpatient treatment program for individuals seeking group therapy options for their issues with self-harm. The group is designed to accommodate individuals who are committed to recovery or seeking coping help understanding themselves and self harm when they attend the session. For these reasons, graphic discussion of individual experiences as well as the methods of self-harm is not permitted.

The SAFE program and its weekly meeting is organized and facilitated by Martha McCallum, an employee of CMHA and experienced mental health outreach worker in London.

SAFE's Self-Abuse Therapy Group Mandate
The group is designed to accommodate individuals who are committed to recovery and learning. For these reasons, graphic discussion of individual experiences as well as the methods of self-harm is not permitted. Meetings are held at a CMHA designated site every Wednesday. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. and when they are in session SAFE group is considered an open, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment for individuals to learn about and share experiences related to recovery from self-harm.
